Nothing screams classic American style quite like Harley-Davidson. Manufacturing sophisticated and elegant motorcycles in Milwaukee since the very beginning of the 20th century, Harley-Davidson produces high-quality bikes and works to provide “unparalleled experiences” for its riders. The following tours allow you to savor the thrill of taking to the open road on one of the world’s most beautiful and popular motorcycles.
A seven-night Harley-Davidson tour allows you to explore the iconic Route 66 from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, while also driving through Arizona and Utah. The 1,427-mile (2,298-kilometer) ride takes you past landmarks and natural wonders, including the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, the San Bernardino National Forest, Joshua Tree National Park and a Hualapai Indian Reservation. Additionally, you’ll get to stay overnight in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Laughlin, Grand Canyon Village, Kayenta, Bryce Canyon City and Las Vegas. A motorcycle license and at least a year of motorcycle-riding experience are required to take part in this tour.
There’s also an independent three-day Harley-Davidson tour that starts in Miami, which takes participants on a 330-mile (532-kilometer) ride to Key West. This self-guided tour (you’ll be given directions) is best suited for experienced bikers and includes accommodations along the way. Some highlights of the journey include Miami Beach, the Overseas Highway over the Gulf of Mexico, Key Largo and Florida City, to name a few. End the excursion back in Miami where you can relax and re-energize on the beach.
Additionally, a number of cities like Miami and Orlando offer independent rental packages. You can choose how many days you’ll travel for, as well as the type of bike you’d like to ride. Suggested routes include Sugarloaf Mountain in Orlando, the Ozello Trail and for the truly adventurous, the 400-mile (644-kilometer) ride down Route 98 from Pensacola, Florida, to Crystal River in Miami.
