Overall it was a good trip, staff was courteous, knowledgeable (especially Stathis, our guide) and professional. Couple of suggestions to improve the trip : (1) spend more time at Delphi (approx 1 hour is not enough), (2) tea/coffee stop was not good (same place we stopped on both days) - find a place with better quality and variety.
This was an escorted tour and the bus, the driver, and the tour were absolutely outstanding. The hotel was very nice and the town was so beautiful that I wish I'd booked the tour for 4 days. I Highly recommend this tour.
This was an amazing trip. A friend suggested, last minute, that I sign up for this venture and I am certainly glad I did. Comfortable bus, kind and knowledgeable guides, and amazing places. I am still in awe of Meteora for its scenery and Delphi for its history. I am VERY happy with my friend's suggestion!
Meteora Monastries were definitely a memorable experience. The weather threatened to disrupt it but we turned lucky and it helped with keeping things cool rather than wetting the experience. Our guide was excellent where he managed to balance explaining and giving us our space. Information was just enough to take in yet had a lot of history in it. He also threw in current information in an unbiased way. We thank him for it. Our trip was on June 18-19 so you can get his name. I am sorry I forgot.
The earlier day to Delphi we were disappointed a bit. Our guide spoke non-stop and her stories were good helping us remember things but they were one too many. We were disappointed that having gone that far there wasn't enough time to go all the way up to the top of Delphi - partly because we are not as light on our feet and partly because of her explanations at each stop. I don't think you had planned in the Museum even if she had been faster. We reached Triphala by seven and had nothing much to do there so a little more time to take in the museum I don't think would have mattered.
Hotel Amelia was excellent and so were the stops we had for rest. Well timed and good places to refresh with food reasonable.
