Would really recommend this tour for those looking for a nice blend of "non-commercialized" tourism but still being with a group. Pickup went smoothly from Playa Del Carmen (near 5th Ave). The entire crew was very professional - tour guide (Jack) was super friendly and informative, the driver did a great job navigating the dirt roads to the Cenote (Mayan Massage - inside joke) and the photographer really captured the energy and good vibes of the day. The Tulum part of the trip was probably the least exciting but it was still nice to learn about Mayan history from a local guide. By far the highlight was visiting the dry and wet "cave" cenotes. Snorkeling in the wet one was a super cool experience and overall this was a much different experience to the other cenotes we had seen in the area, including the massive one near Chichen Itza. The trip to the lagoon for snorkeling was very nice as well and a good way to end the day.On this particular tour they sold pictures from the Cave Cenotes and Lagoon Snorkeling on a USB stick along with photos from other tours the company does (e.g. Whale Sharks) for 40 USD, which I thought wasn't that unreasonable (considering the price of the USB in general).
One of the highlights of my trip to Cancun, Mexico.Tulum was nicely done, trip into the jungle to snorkel and walk through 2 separate Cenotewas just fantastic. Lunch was very good and all you could eat. The snorkel trip was plan B in a river were it entered in to the ocean. The ocean was too rough for snorkeling. The river was lots of fun and a lot better than open ocean in chop. Ride into the jungle was pretty rough with 20 minutes of bouncing and swerving. A long fun filled day that I would do again!!
An excellent time! Our hosts for the trip were very informative and fun, ALL of the sights were beautiful! We were in a group with younger children 10-ish and they also seemed to be loving it. They supply with wet suits and swim/snorkel accessories. And the FOOD was the icing on the cake of a great day.
Let me start with our tour guide Luca. He was incredible and made all the difference. He was friendly, funny and most importantly very knowledgeable. The Tulum tour could have been a bit longer (we could have been given some time there on our own). The snorkeling was the least impressive for me, but that could just be the fact that I dont snorkel, but the rest of my family does and they apparently loved it. They didnt see as many fish as they wanted but again Luca was fantastic and very helpful. The jungle/cave is the winner. Again, a bit more time there...but that could just be that we enjoyed it so much we wanted it to last longer.
Must Knows: They give you a sack bag when you board and it does have enough munchies to keep you full (they also had muffins and bananas). The lunch was tasty, not a ton of food, but then again its hot and you dont want to much food in your belly before you jump into a cave. Plenty, I mean plenty of ice cold water.
Be prepared, it is HOT and sunny and the mosquitoes are unforgiving (though again Luca was awesome and had plenty of bug pray on-hand in case you forget yours).
Be prepared for a long drive. The van is reasonably comfortable, its cool inside and the driver was also pleasant. Dont pass this tour up. It was incredible.
Macarana was a great guide, she was very knowledgeable, patient, and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend anybody considering going to Tulum ruins go for the three in one adventure. It is a full day but it is something you will never experience in your life elsewhere. The driver stayed with the van and watched all of our belongings and they were all very honest and very nice.
Salvador was our tour guide, he was amazing! On the way there we were given a sack with a juice box, cookie, and a meat empanada. Tulum was really great and Salvador was very informative. We then loaded up and went to the cenotes. Salvador took us through 2 different ones. One of them we got to swim in and the other we walked through. Both of them were so pretty and fun. After the cenotes, we were served a really nice lunch of pulled pork with warm corn shells, rice, and a pasta salad. We were unable to go to the original plan for snorkeling but Salvador said he had a backup plan. He took us to a place that he said translated to fish nest. It did not disappoint, there was never a moment that I did not see a fish and some of the guests, including my husband, got to see a baby barracuda. I loved this excursion!
This was a great tour. We started off the day in Tulum which was stunning. It was interesting to see ruins so close to water since most of the ruins are in the middle of jungle. The snorkeling was amazing - beautiful clear water - and we saw turtles, squids and tons of fish. The Cenote was super cool and there was a tour through part of the cave system which was a surprise and really cool! Our tour guide was exceptional and did everything to meet the needs of the group!
