Mohammed was the best guide we could ever have asked for. He was informed, friendly and patient. Our time with him was interesting and I wouldn't have missed this for anything. The Alhambra has a certain magic and charm to it like no other place, which was brought alive by Mohammed's passion for history and extensive knowledge of the site. This trip is well worth it. I strongly recommend you do it and enjoy the beautiful tranquil, verdant gardens and panoramic views alongside the magnificent Alhambra.
This was the best tour of my entire vacation. Our tour guide was wonderful. She spoke perfect English, was fun and was so intelligent.
She knew everything we questioned and taught us so much about the sites and culture. I highly recommend paying the extra amount for this private tour. It was well worth it!
We had a truly excellent 3-1/2-hour tour of the Alhambra, Spain's most well-known and awe-inspiring example of Islamic architecture, and of the Generalife, the summer place and refreshing gardens of the Nasrid rulers. While the palace-and-fortress complex speaks for itself, our visit was immensely enhanced by our tour guide, Patty. The wealth of information that she had at her fingertips was only exceeded in our appreciation by her outgoing and gracious manner throughout the tour. At times, it felt as though a good friend was showing us her new home. She was prompt and considerate, and she made our visit so worthwhile. The tour is not inexpensive but, for once, the results seemed worth the cost. We had experience with only one guide but, if Patty is representative of the guides available through this site, then we recommend this tour to all.
Not really knowing what to expect and having some confusion as to why we were not informed until the day before about our confirmed tour start time, don't panic, every tour start time hinges on when you can enter the Nasrid Palaces we were very impressed with our guide, Abu Bakr and felt that the cost of the private tour was well worth it. His knowledge of the history of the Alhambra from a Muslim perspective was extensive, his manner pleasant and engaging. Abu is a lover of history and it was evident from start to finish. As our tour progressed we came to realize what a truly unique and special place the Alhambra is and how what we experienced is likely a once in a lifetime event. Two things: if you go to Granada don't miss the Alhambra and when you're there look at it through the lens of your eyes and not that of a camera. It is the only way to truly see it.
Guide Mohammed N. was great. Highly recommended. He added significantly to our experience, appreciation and understanding of Granada and the history of Islamic empire in Europe. He was very good at setting a pace that allowed us to take in the Alhambra and the full scope of the tour without feeling rushed. He made this splurge on a private tour feel totally worthwhile.
Our guide, Juan, appeared on time in front of the Alhambra ticket office and was knowledgeable. We had him all to ourselves, so we were easily able to hear him as he described the history of the place, and he was able to jump from one topic to another when answering our varied questions.
Juan extensively showed us General life, the Alcazaba fortification, and the Nasrid palace. We stopped briefly at the much later King Charles palace. Juan left it to us to visit the museums in the palace and elsewhere in the Alhambra. Juan also suggested follow up visits to Albaicin neighborhood, particularly the Mirador San Nicholas, to see the Alhambra from outside. After 2.5 hours, he left us at the exit to Nasrid palace, allowing us to continue our explorations on our own.
This tour was absolutely worth it. We were a group of 9 guys, and our guide - Gausha - was perfect. She was very knowledgeable about the history, answered all of our questions, extremely friendly, kind, and charismatic. She got along with all of us and made sure we all had a great time. Gausha shared some great insights about the place and the history, making this one of the highlights for our trip. The private tour was worth the money and it really enhances your learning, appreciation, and experience of Alhambra.
I definitely recommend this tour if you want a complete experience. Thanks Gausha!
