Nice tour in a beautiful landscape, and our guide spoke both English and Spanish incredibly well! It wouldn't hurt if the visit in Mayerling was a bit longer and the visit in the convent was a bit shorter. Don't forget to bring a jacket for the boat trip in the cave waters!
Heiligenkreuz was stunning! Mayerling and the Seegtotto were interesting from a historical perspective. The setting of Mayerling in early spring n a warm sunny day was beautiful and, although it had a lovely outdoor cafe, Seegrotto inside was an overhyped tourist trap.. People in our group were actually taking photos of the plastic horse displays and Disney movie posters. Reminded me of Rock City in Chattanooga, TN. The cave itself was cool, but what theyve done to the place? Not so much. Guide and bus driver were excellent.
This was a very good tour. The visits were well paced and the guide was good. The pick up from the hotel was very easy and they were on time. The highlight was the visit to the Seergotte where you enjoy a boat ride in the subterranean lake. This is a nice morning tour and gives you a view of the sights just outside of Vienna.
It's, in fact a really great tour! Very interesting itinerary - three extremely interesting stops in on a half-day excursion. ! in a sense, two points would be enough, but all went smoothly. It doesn't feel rushed, enough time to look around and just take in all interesting stuff. The guide was excellent, knowledgeable and patient, interested in telling people historical facts and about geographical features of the places that we were passing.
The only thing that I want to mention - the meeting place where the excursion started can be described more clearly - at the end of the bus station on the same side where Hauptbahnhof is.
